The Network of Libraries of Getxo, whose first center was born in the 50s, is now formed by 3 libraries:
- San Nikols: located in a historic building in the Plaza de San Nicolás, in Algorta, which used to be Town Hall, courthouse, school... In addition to all the basic services for adults, it houses our Local Collection and our Local Photographic Archive.
- Villamonte: located in the premises of the Cultural Classroom of Algorta, it has a great section for children and young people, a great komikiteka, etc.
- Romo: located in the new building of the RKE, it is the most modern of our libraries, with wider spaces, well-differentiated areas for different uses and publics and all the advantages of being inside a multi-use civic center.

In the Libraries Network of Getxo we have the following spaces and services for all the public: loan of books and other materials for all ages, newspaper library, free Internet, loan in portable room, scanners, tablets, etc.
But, in addition, throughout the year we organize a large number of animation and library extension activities:
- Every month, during the school year: the Storytellers Club, Story Time, Versadas (poetry club), creative writing workshops, reading clubs, book presentations, literary talks and meetings, school visits, etc.
- Annual events: Book Fair, Solidarity Market for Used Books, Terrazas de las Letras (summer libraries on the street), "Liburutegiak topaleku / Libraries, meeting point".
- Literary contests: short novel contest "Ramiro Pinilla", children's story contest "Txiki Baskardo"
